Joining an audioconference using an ordinary phone

Explains how to join (dial into) a conference from an ordinary phone.

New Zealand numbers

You may join an audioconference using an ordinary phone by dialling a phone number best suited to your location.

Christchurch (03) 281 8592
Wellington (04) 460 2519

New Zealand freecall number
If you do not live within the Wellington, Christchurch, or Dunedin calling areas the free calling number for audioconferences for the rest of New Zealand is:

A complete list of audioconference dial in access numbers for Australia and many other countries is at: http://oceanbrowser.com/support/conferences.html

International users will not incur any cost if calling access numbers in your local area (e.g. the Sydney number is a local Sydney call, etc.) If you intend to participate in an audioconference via phone please bear in mind that these numbers have limited capacity and cannot be guaranteed to work. Where possible you should supply your phone number (landline) and mobile (backup) to support@oceanbrowser.com along with the paper name and date of the audioconference. We will send you a confirmation message, and in the event that you do not make the roll call we can call you on the phone number(s) you have supplied.

Calback - Audioconference via dial out call (i.e. we call you)

For students who do not have access to the internet, and who are unable to dial one of the access numbers above, you may request us to call you at the time of the audioconference. Please supply us with the following details: your name and paper name (e.g OPHX5001, SPSX 204 etc), audioconference date and time, your phone number (landline) and backup (mobile) where we may reach you at the time of the audioconference. Send these details at least one day in advance of the audioconference to support@oceanbrowser.com with a copy to your paper coordinator. If you have not received an acknowledgement email from us, then we have not received your email.

And finally!
If you need special assistance, please let us know. We will endeavour to support your requirements.

You can also ask for help in the text chat room during the audioconference if you are having difficulties.
