Navigate to the course
From Administration select "Files"
Navigate to the module you wish to add resources to. If you need to add a "video" folder, add it using the Add Folder option.
To upload multiple files at once, create a zip folder. For example you may have a folder containing an mp4 together with a controller file (opsc508...controller.swf in this example). Zip this all together to upload...
Use the Add file option, navigate to your zip (or individual video file) and click "Upload this file"
When the zip is uploaded, the "Unzip" option will expand it to a full folder of files again.
Now let's link a swf file from to the Topic Outline. AVMX724 has plenty of existing videos linked so provides good examples of how to link videos.
Turn editing on (1)
Navigate to the module you wish to work on...
From the Add a resource menu select Link to a file or web site
Name your file, then select the video you wish to link by clicking "Choose or upload a file (2)
Navigate to the video folder, then select the _controller.swf file if it exists (1), otherwise select the video file (2).
If you specify the controller file this will force Moodle to play the file using Flash, otherwise it will attempt to guess the appropriate player, e.g. if you select a .flv file it will use Flash, but if you select mp4 it may use Quicktime.
The file selection box will close. Scroll down and select "Save and display" on the new resource page.
Your video will display...
Return to the Topic Outline level. Your new link appears (1). You can edit it (2) or delete it (3).
