Describes how to use the Video Gallery website to record a webcam video from your laptop or desktop computer (requires that you have a webcam).
To record (or view) a video go to: http://www.oceanbrowser.com/VideoGallery/
Here is the window you will see when you arrive on the page.
- To view an existing video, select from the list (1).
- To record a new video, click Add Video (2)
The recording interface will appear. First we need to approve Flash to access your webcam.
Click "Allow" (1) in the Flash Settings (which will appear automatically) to allow the recorder to access your camera and microphone.
Your picture (from the camera) should appear in the central area.
If it does not appear confirm that you have a webcam (for laptops your webcam is probably built in, desktop computers may have a separate camera, make sure it is plugged in and configured correctly. All Mac laptops have a webcam.)
Click the record button (2) to begin recording. We recommend that you wait 3 seconds from when you start recording before you start speaking to give the system time to start recording. Once you are recording, the rec button will change to a stop button - click it again to stop recording.
After you have stopped recording, click Play (3) to review your recording. If you are not satisfied, re-record your video.
When you are ready enter a name for the video and your name in the Title and Author areas, then click Submit to save the video.
The main window will reappear (see step 1 above), you can see your new video listed.
